During a career which has included collaborations with dancer Sylvie Guillem, artist Antony Gormley and even pop princess Kylie Minogue, Asian British dancer and choreographer Akram Khan has transformed contemporary dance.

The man famous for his fusion of British and classical Indian dance forms talks to writer Hanif Kureishi about dance, artistic creation and cultural identity.
