Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
25 July, 7pm, £17.50, adv £15 Spitz, Old Spitalfields Market, 020 7392 9032, www.spitz.co.uk

If you believed George Formby was the only man brave enough to play the Ukulele, then you may learn something this evening, as an entire orchestra descends on the capital.

Since their formation in 1985, the group have enjoyed remarkable success, playing sold-out gigs across the world and making numerous television appearances on shows such as Jools Holland and Richard and Judy.

The orchestra's talent lies in re-hashing a variety of music, most notably rock 'n' roll classics and famous punk hits and they are as equally at home at Ronnie Scott's or the Glastonbury Festival.
