Trafalgar Square Festival
2 – 19 August

Breathtaking Indian dance and drama has hit the streets of London as part of one of the capital's biggest festivals of culture.

The sixth Trafalgar Square Festival takes inspiration from Ken Livingstone's India Now season.

Three weeks of outdoor theatre and dance kicked off in style on 2 August with an aerial sequence in the Shiva Dance, by choreographer and performer Vena Ramphal, which combined circus and the Indian dance style Bharata Natyam.

This was followed by another circus-based spectacular in the exuberant performance of Londindia.

The programme of free events features new collaborations and pioneering outdoor commissions from London-based, Indian and other international companies.
