Zombie Diaries screening
Odeon Leicester Square, 10.45am

If you get scared at zombie horror movies, Leicester Square may be a good place to avoid this Bank Holiday Monday (August 27).

Coinciding with the DVD release of the film, Zombie Diaries, a Zombie Walk record attempt will take place at the Odeon West End as part of the horror festival, Frightfest.

The action is scheduled to begin from 9am, where a potential thousand zombies will descend on the streets of the capital.

Believe it or not, there is a actually a record to be broken, as a mark of 894 zombies was recorded at an event in Pittsburgh last year. London's attempt could well test that number as a group set up on popular social networking site Facebook has so far attracted over 600 members. These include prospective zombies who face the dilemma of whether they should apply their make-up and zombie gear while travelling on the Tube.

The event is being organised down to the very last detail and experts in all things zombie will be on hand to sew together any zombies that struggle to stand the test of time.

With the record attempt expected to last for an hour, participants can put their feet up at a special screening of the Zombie Diaries that follows.
