The Circle line might be quicker this way ...

Londoners are being urged to take part in a 17-mile charity night-time hike following the route of the Circle line.

The Maggie's and Open House London Night Hike will stop at venues including the Royal Geographical Society, Somerset House, City Hall and Guildhall.

Cash will go to Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres. The walk starts at 10pm on 14 September and finishes early on Saturday with breakfast. There will be refreshment stops and a night-flight on the London Eye.

The event was launched at the Eye by TV presenter Janet Ellis and Richard Smith, 36, who has twice beaten testicular cancer. He will use the event to train to be the first cancer survivor to trek to the South Pole, and will drag a tyre to simulate the 350lb sleigh he must haul on his expedition.

To sign up for the hike, ring 020 7385 1059.
