The 10th annual Thames Festival takes place this weekend, and a giant balloon art installation will mark the launch of London Fashion Week.

The river festival celebrates the Thames with open-air art, illuminations, street theatre and music.

It will include a feast on Southwark Bridge, a river pageant and a night-time carnival and fireworks on Sunday.

Sponsored by Barclaycard OnePulse, the festival runs from noon to 10pm between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge tomorrow and Sunday. Fashion Week begins in Holland Park on Sunday night with a "cloud" of golden balloons the size of a football pitch.

The Moet Mirage, named after its sponsors, will take off from beside the Opera House as darkness falls.
