Sports stars will be in Trafalgar Square on Wednesday for the launch of a 2012 Olympics roadshow.

Champions including triple-jumper Jonathan Edwards and BMX star Shanaze Reade are to kick-start the Get Set London initiative.

The roadshow, set to make a pit-stop in every London borough, is billed as a unique opportunity for people to find out how the Games and Paralympics will boost regeneration.

Visitors will be given the chance to take a look at three different zones.

A 'dream statistics' area allowing people to see how their height, weight, and muscle power might suit different sports is sure to be a hit. Meanwhile, job creation and volunteering opportunities will be highlighted along with a zone dedicated to the musical acts competing to play at a special Olympiad ceremony.

The roadshow will tour for four months and will be followed by several cultural events starting in the summer and running until 2012.

The Olympics are expected to attract 180,000 spectators each day and boost tourism by £1.47billion.

Mayor Ken Livingstone, London 2012 committee chairman Lord Sebastian Coe and Olympics minister Tessa Jowell will also be at Wednesday's launch. Full details are available at www.london2012.com.
