Staycation: a British trip is this year's holiday trend

Pack your bags: The London Eye is ready to entertain you

Look here too

The 'staycation' is this year's credit crunch trend. For those of you aren't familiar with the term – that's a good old-fashioned holiday in your homeland. And if London is your chosen destination, the Eye is attempting to give you a taste of the foreign in the heart of the capital.

Until September 1 the London Eye will be taking visitors from Paris to Mumbai; Australia to Rio de Janeiro; and even Hollywood and South Africa.

Onsite performers such as Bollywood dancers representing Mumbai and Carnival drummers bringing Brazil to life will add to the onsite entertainment. Vistors can also get involved with face painting, henna tattoos and hair braiding in keeping with the weekly international themes.

Of course, the magnificent backdrop will be a reminder of what the Big Smoke has to offer.

You could also win a variety of family prizes each week fitting with the international theme. From entrance to top London attractions, such as the SEA LIFE London Aquarium and Madame Tussauds, to meals at London restaurants and a family Merlin Annual Pass. All competitions and prize details are available on the London Eye official website at www.londoneye.com where you can also save 10 percent if you book online.
