Meet this year's models; you'll be seeing alot more of them...
Who Charlotte Pallister
Age 16
Discovered After being teased at school for being tall and awkward, Charlotte's mother sent pictures of her to Models 1. They called me in and booked me soon after that.'
Background Charlotte left school last year to focus on modelling'. After a brief spell living in a shared model flat, which drove me crazy', she now lives alone in Putney. Weekends are spent at home with her parents, brother and sister in Norwich. Her father recently begged a life-sized poster of his daughter from the wall of the local Laura Ashley shop. It's now pride of place in my bedroom.'
First job Charlotte stormed the catwalk for Aquascutum and Biba at London Fashion
Week, before heading straight to Milan for a Jil Sander show.
Best feature Definitely my legs.'
Describe yourself in three wordsLanky, enthusiastic and loud.'
Clever or pretty? Everyone is more into pretty. The world's got vain.'
Favourite model Charlotte's idol is Karolina Kurkova and it's my dream to be a Victoria's Secret model'.
Wants to be remembered as The wild, bubbly one.'
Would most like to kiss Alex Pettyfer is hot.'
Who Lottie Sunkel
Age 17
Discovered At 15, shopping at Topshop, by a talent scout. I sent some pictures to Models 1 and that was it. I got booked straight away.'
Background Lottie is from a family of psychotherapists and is studying art, Spanish and German at the Fine Arts College (alumni include Helena Bonham Carter and Orlando
Bloom) in Hampstead. She would ultimately like to be a colour therapist. She lives in North
London with her parents and brother, who, at 23, is protective but really most concerned about how much money I'm making'. Lottie hopes to move into her own place next year.
First job A shoot for London designer Katherine Hooker, done in someone's back garden'. She has her sights set on couture.
Worst job An Allinson bread advert: I had to hold a bucket of pumpkin seeds for about five hours. My arm really hurt.'
Best feature My eyes. I hate my feet. I'm always teased about them being so huge.'
Clever or pretty? I'definitely rather be clever. It's what's on the inside that counts.'
Favourite model Lottie's been a Kate Moss fan for a long time: There's no one like her.'
Wants to be remembered as A very down-to-earth, human model.'
Would most like to kiss I suppose saying Johnny Depp is too clichéd, so I'll say my dog Phoenix. He's a pointer – a mini-horse really.'
Who Betty Adewole
Age 18
Discovered Betty was scouted on Tottenham Court Road when she was 15, but didn't hear from the agency again until a few months ago when they called her in and booked her for London Fashion Weekend.
Background She lives in Thamesmead with her Nigerian parents (both nurses)and brother, who have reservations about modelling but remain supportive. She took her GCSEs at Hackney Free – the same school Alek Wek attended – and is now studying for an A level in theatre studies at the City of Westminster College in Maida Vale.
First job I've been incredibly lucky. One of my first jobs was the cover for 125 magazine.'
Best feature Probably my eyes. I can't stand my feet – I've got a thing about toes.'
Clever or pretty? It helps to be clever, so you don't get taken advantage of.'
Perks of the job Modelling has made her much more confident with less self-doubt'.
Favourite model Naomi Campbell. She was the first black model on Vogue's cover.'
Wants to be remembered as A happy, positive and optimistic model.'
Who Sai Bennett
Age 18: The old fogey of the bunch.'
Discovered Sai was first scouted aged 11 while on a shopping spree in Topshop with her mother, an artist, who rebuffed the attention, and then again at 13 at a skateboard and BMX show at Alexandra Palace. Thankfully, I was alone and gave all my details immediately.'
Background Sai was booked for her first job when she was 13 (for Japanese Vogue),so her decision to leave school after her GCSEs because of a short attention span' was no surprise. She was brought up in Hackney with her older sister (a bit of a feminist who never used to approve of modelling') and younger brother. She now lives with her grandmother, mother and boyfriend Chris Benns, 24, a stylist she met on a shoot and has a promise to marry sometime in the future'.
Perks of the job Travelling and the freedom you wouldn't have in a nine-to-five job'. So far she's been to Dubai, Paris, Italy, Corsica and Miami and done campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister.
Clever or pretty? I think girls need to be clever. No doubt. I see myself as this geeky
awkward thing and being aware is what gives
me an advantage.'
Favourite model Lily Donaldson is really cool.'
Wants to be remembered as More than just a pretty face. For having some substance
and a personality.'
Who Paige Young
Age 16
Discovered At 14, Paige, 5ft 6in and still growing', entered the Ford Supermodel of the World competition and came second.
Background An only child, Paige lives in Newcastle with her mother, a secondary
school teacher, and has just taken 16 GCSEs. Her mother usually only allows her to work on weekends and in school holidays, so today's shoot is a treat'. She hopes to move to London permanently after her exams but will remain under strict supervision by my mum'.
First job The Danielle Scutt lookbook for spring/summer 2008.
Worst job I haven't had one yet. My best job was the lookbook for the label High. They flew me to Sweden; it's a great country.'
Staying in shape I don't do any exercise at the moment, just a weekly gymnastics class at school.'
What's next Make-up and fashion fan Paige hopes to learn fashion design one day and is currently considering doing an evening class in textile design.
Best feature People say my hair and cheekbones. I'm not really sure.'
Worst feature She's unhappy with her eyes: They're so small.'
On being pretty Everyone's pretty in their own way.'
Future plans Paige hopes to have her own design label and a snog with my secret crush'. She's keen to remain true to herself and not be fake to get what I want'.

What lovely young ladies and good luck to them all. They don't seem to be too full of themselves and they all seem to be sensibly proportioned in the figure (not stick thin as usual). Lets hope the future is bright and we see real shape women on catwalks soon!!!
- Janice, newcastle upon tyne
Great they all want to be clever, lets hope they are mentored well as the modelling landscape is littered with the over idolised and seriously indulged tripping in and out of alcohol and drug addicted rehab,Naomi Campbell, is certainly no role model, black or not, she is very quick with her verbal and physical aggression and she was in the 'i'd rather be naked than wear fur' campaign posters a while ago, but as soon as there is some easy money to be grabbed she sells her moral soul to the highest bidder, parading down the catwalk draped in animals misery. It would be nice if these girls took a look at - CAFT - 'The Coalition Against the Fur Trade' or some fur farm videos on youtube, alternatively they could choose to work with the likes of Stella Mcartney, with great opportunity comes great moral responsibility, now lets see the strength of the path they choose to follow as they bud into beautiful young women.. Good Luck to you all
- Sarah Ackland-Snow, Sevenoaks England
It all sounds so lovely. No mention of the easy temptations, all to often dangled by predatory 'older' men, of the jet-set dream - free designer clothes, and booze, and fags, cocaine fuelled parties at glamorous destinations and so on and so on. Then there are the eating disorders. I am not surprised Paige's poor Mum is keeping her under 'strict supervision'..
