On first look, LK Bennett seems like a one-stop shop for young politicians' wives: necklines are modest and dresses and skirts end close to the knee. All very smart but a little too safe.
Delve deeper, though. LKB is a pro when it comes to clothes that work in the office but won't seem too business-like in a bar. There's a fitted dress that borrows from Roland Mouret in Donegal tweed (£195).
And it would be hard to go wrong with its Jackie O skirt suits (jackets from £225, matching skirts from £125). There is the odd miss - a fondness for ruffles, and certain prints won't be to everyone's taste.
The shoes are more daring, with quirky versions of this season's must-haves: zebra-print peep-toe ankle boots (£225) and over-the-knee boots with a snake-print panel (£495).
LK Bennett isn't cheap and it's not cutting edge but if you want well-cut clothes, it is definitely worth a visit.
Staff: helpful and friendly.
Changing rooms: smart and clean but the lighting leaves you jaundiced.
Quality: good, hence the price tags.
