If you're looking for a little party dress, Mango could be your one-stop shop

Sequins, sequins everywhere. That's the first impression you get when you walk into Mango this season, as though a burlesque dancer's costume box has exploded in store.

Sequined leggings, studded dresses, feather shrugs - the clothes are dripping in decoration.

There are basics too, though, if you look closely enough: knitwear in rainbow colours (from £14), a strong collection of winter coats (£69 plus) and some smart workwear.

Its accessories - especially the chunky bracelets - are worth a look, too. But Mango is at its best when it is producing glitzy - and often skimpy - clothes for party girls: a sequined sapphire mini-dress (£119) with a sheer back panel, a gold flapper frock (£119) - which makes a nod to Marchesa - and a heavily-embellished mini-skirt (£85).

Sometimes it goes too far: there's a fringed black micro-mini (£47), which is a little go-go dancer. But if you are looking for the perfect party dress for this Christmas, Mango could be your one-stop shop.

Staff: Polite, if a little icy.

Changing rooms: Not for the body-shy - fellow shoppers can see into your cubicle through the gaps.

Quality: Good aside from a few loose threads here and there.

Our pick: Silver sequined dress £119.
