Little Britain duo Matt Lucas and David Walliams will have to get used to the red carpet

Little Britain: The Movie is on its way. Stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas revealed they are developing a film in the US.

Asked on ITV1's Parkinson if they planned another series of the hit comedy, Walliams said: "We don't know yet, actually, because we've had some sort of interest from America. "We've got a sort of film development deal out there and also we might do something for TV out there."

The duo have signed up with Spice Girls and Pop Idol supremo Simon Fuller, who is in discussions about reworking the show for US audiences in a deal with broadcaster HBO.

Walliams and Lucas, who recently signed a multi-million pound golden handcuffs deal with the BBC, are also planning a British spin-off show featuring their best-loved characters Lou and Andy. There will also be two Little Britain Christmas specials.

In the interview, to be broadcast tomorrow, Lucas also spoke about his forthcoming gay wedding to TV producer Kevin McGee.

"We're going to have a civil partnership - or marriage - or whatever you like to call it," he said. I think the first thing is I suppose we are very much in love but also it's important that gay couples have the same rights as straight couples."

Walliams joked: "I do have a marriage pact with Denise van Outen. We went on holiday together and we said that if we weren't married to anybody else in two years' time we'd get married. Six months has gone by..."

He added: "I think when she said it she was pretty much hoping she'd be married in that space of two years, so I'd be pulling her down the aisle in tears."

:: The interview will be broadcast at 10pm tomorrow night on ITV1.
