Bond girl Eva Green has been nominated for a Bafta. The French beauty, who appears opposite Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, is one of five contenders for the Orange Rising Star Award.

It is given out annually to a young actor who has demonstrated exceptional on-screen talent.

The other nominees are Ben Whishaw, Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris and Emily Blunt. Whishaw is currently starring in the film adaptation of Perfume.

Murphy shot to fame in 28 Days Later and recently appeared in Ken Loach's Palme d'Or winner The Wind That Shakes The Barley.

Harris had roles in two Hollywood blockbusters last year - Miami Vice and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

Blunt played Meryl Streep's bitchy assistant in The Devil Wears Prada, a
performance which has also earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

The shortlist was announced today by the 2006 winner, Shameless star James McAvoy. The award is voted by the public via the Orange website or via text message. This year's Bafta awards take place on February 11.
