Quentin Tarantino plays a bartender in his horror movie, but the film has received a disastrous US reception

Quentin Tarantino, who won the Palme D'Or at Cannes with Pulp Fiction, is experiencing a rare taste of disappointment.

His new £50 million film is languishing on the shelf without a British release date.

Grindhouse is a double bill of horror made with his friend Robert Rodriguez but has had a disastrous reception in the US.

It is intended as a homage to the sleazy, low budget double bills they grew up watching but has been withdrawn while backers work out a rescue strategy.

Doesn't suprise me. Tarrantino is overrated and frankly, rubbish (I would use more honest language but I'm scared that this message will be censored). He's NEVER made a good film. His sucess in the box office has always been about hype and bull, and the media and "with it crowd" crowing about his "greatness". I think quite frankly these people giving his works raving reviews have secretly been laughing at "the masses" swallowing their glowing endosements and going to see those works of tripe on the strength of their recommendations. Guess what.. the viewers have finally woken up and aren't interested in seeing B-movies.

Serves him right for being so full of himself.
