Jolly hockey sticks: Star of The OC, Misca Barton

The OC star Mischa Barton has signed up to appear in a remake of the classic British comedy St Trinian's.

Barton, 21, will join other stars of the British film, including pop band Girls Aloud, Rupert Everett and Colin Firth. Ealing studios announced that Barton will play JJ French.

Other stars of the film, being marketed at the Cannes Film Festival, include Stephen Fry, Jodie Whittaker, Lily Cole and Celia Imrie.

St Trinian's is being filmed in and around London and is directed by Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson.
