This smash hit at the French box office and winner of three C�sar awards is an extended portrait of an ordinary family, sketched out over 12 years.

Mother (Zabou Breitman) thinks her husband (Jacques Gamblin) doesn�t fancy her any more and has frequent spats with both her daughter and her sons.

Nothing seems to be going right, yet a hidden kind of equilibrium is always there.

Director and writer R�mi Bezan�on has a view of family life at odds with that of our own curmudgeon Philip Larkin, and the final reel proves the point.
