Silliness can't be drowned out by screams in The Descent

The Decent: Part II
The Decent: Part II is watchable but silly

By Derek Malcolm
4 Dec 2009

Part one, if you remember, had six women facing peril down a deep cave, and was considered one of the best horrors of 2005.

This sequel, directed by Jon Harris rather than Neil Marshall, has the last survivor coming up for air and sedated in hospital before being illogically hauled out of bed to lead another expedition down the shaft.

Competent film-making renders the film watchable but it's silly in essence and there's nothing the cast can do about that, however hard they scream.
