Jack's back to mock and roll

Jack Black as a hopeful if incompetent rock 'n' roller is always a pleasure to watch and, teamed up with Kyle Gass's older but not much wiser street musician, there's some good fun to be had even in this uneven movie.
It has them trying to steal a magical guitar pick from the Rock and Roll History Museum, an impenetrable fortress which requires Black to press a button with his erect penis in order to avoid the building's laser defences.
The quest is to become the greatest band on earth, and the best bits of the film are the musical numbers with the pair striving for rock success.
The rest is pure parody rather than effective satire. But their fans won't mind much about that.

As a School Of Rock fan I couldn't wait to see this film and whilst not as polished, The Pick Of Destiny still delivers laugh of loud moments along with the brilliant songs we've come to expect from The D. A rockingly good zany comedy from the boys.
