Limp tribute to Space Odyssey

"Death" is the path to awe," says someone in Darren Aronofsky's florid yet irredeemably limp tribute to Stanley Kubrick's 2001, A Space Odyssey. So bad is the film that you can scarcely credit that Aronofsky made the admired Pi and Requiem for a Dream.
The plot spans 1,000 years and three separate centuries, each of them inhabited by Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. The three parallel stories are about love, death and the fragility of life. But, however sincerely the leads play, their lines become ever more like psychobabble.

Consider Aronofsky's previous works and think: 'could he make a poor film?' Well, if you think yes, then stay at home. If you think not, then go and see one of the films of the decade. Alludes to and explains so much. If you think you know your 'alternative' science and history then prepare to be blown away... Astounding!

Ignore every bad review of this film, but more importantly go and see it. Death can be as beautiful and as inspiring as life itself.
