Sicko, Michael Moore's new polemic is about the American insurance-based healthcare system whose companies engage panels of medics to vet claims and hopefully reject them.

After interviewing distraught patients and angry whistleblowers, he sets off for France, Britain and Cuba where the wonders of free healthcare stagger both him and the sick 9/11 rescue workers who go along for the ride.

Moore's play-dumb questioning, his starry-eyed marvelling at the National Health Service and his manipulative stance weaken his argument.

But in the end the central truths of the film, obviously made for an American audience who either love or hate him, can't be denied.
