Kitchen W8
Too long and drawn out but very entertaining with excellent special effects
This is a peculiar play and does not work for me. Some of it is very funny but there are real flaws
Alex has a strong powerful voice and was faultless, she is far better now than she was on the X-Factor

Dir: Hideo Nakata.
Cast: Nanako Matsushima, Hiroyuki Sanada, Miki Nakatani
Description: Reporter Reiko Asakawa hears stories of a videotape which supposedly kills the viewer exactly seven days after they have seen it. Sceptical at first, Reiko soon comes to believe in the myth when her cousin Tomoko and a friend both pass away exactly one week after seeing the mysterious tape. Viewing it for herself, Reiko becomes aware of strange forces about and within her, and teams up with her former husband to prevent the same grisly fate befalling her as well.
Country: JAP. 1998. 95mins
Japan’s most successful horror, taken from a best-selling book by director Hideo Nakata, has already spawned a prequel, a sequel and a spin-off. None of them, however, matches it for atmospherics as TV reporter Reiko (Nanako Matsushima) attempts to solve the riddle of the ghostly video which, when watched, causes death within a week.
The measured, eerie direction keeps the tension tight throughout. David Cronenberg could perhaps compete with Nakata but unfortunately only lesser mortals have attempted to replicate the feeling that Reiko has plunged into something with which even her psychic powers can’t compete.
