Faintheart
On the warpath: Eddie Marsan (centre) and his Viking friends in Faintheart

By Charlotte O'Sullivan
22 Jan 2009

Are you a fan of low-budget formula fun and trite musings on modern manhood? Alternatively, do you love Ewen Bremner’s agonised, gawpy face and long to see him in anything? Then check out Faintheart, which tells of a Viking-obsessed loser (Eddie Marsan) determined to win back the affections of his ex-wife (Jessica Hynes) and son (Tim Healy) when a smarmy sports teacher (Paul Nicholls) steps into the breach. With the help of his friend Julian (Bremner).

The film is showing for free in certain cinemas (see www.myspace.com/faintheartthemovie). Even if you hate it, the only thing you’ll be wasting is your time.
