A Perfect Getaway is flawed but entertaining

Milla Jovovich and Steve Zahn play a couple on a honeymoon that goes pear-shaped in David Twohy’s thriller.
Just when they start to enjoy themselves in Hawaii, where “nothing bad ever happens”, they are faced with the news that other honeymooners at the resort have been brutally murdered.
They then meet two couples who might just be the killers. Or have we got it all wrong?
Yes, we have: Twohy ratchets up the tension by suddenly producing a back story to surprise us. There’s a lot of blood and little logic but the actors scream nicely.

From the review, it sounds like he should watch it the first time.
This gem of a film is packed with perfect moments galore, not to mention solid logic. It's worth the price of admission just to watch Zahn follow Oliphant on a tracking mission through the jungle looking for the murderers.
The beach scene where the bad folks' insanity is revealed is so deftly done as to be a study in how to make the Plot Point 2 Turn-- it's perfect.

Logic galore, actually. If you watched the movie closely (and possibly again) all of the details fall into place. It's a very clever thriller/dark comedy. They obviously spent a lot of time on the character profiles before even beginning the screenplay. Very refreshing for a genre that's been beaten into the ground with all "twist" and no story.
Watch it a second time and I guarantee you'll at least appreciate the writing.
