Kitchen W8
Too long and drawn out but very entertaining with excellent special effects
This is a peculiar play and does not work for me. Some of it is very funny but there are real flaws
Alex has a strong powerful voice and was faultless, she is far better now than she was on the X-Factor

Christopher Smith, the British director who made Creep and Severance, is a little too clever for his own good.
You may become almost as neurotic as the central character while trying to work out this new Twilight Zone-ish thriller.
Still, he is clearly a film-maker to watch and Triangle is the best he’s done so far.
The character in question is Jess (Melissa George), the single mother of an autistic son who guiltily boards a yacht off the coast of Florida without him on a nice friend’s invitation.
She finds herself in the epicentre of a freak storm that pitches the entire crew into the sea.
A passing liner picks them up but there seems to be no one on board except a mystery attacker with a hood and a gun. All sorts of weird things then happen.
The backstory, which gives the final reel a nicely judged dramatic kick, is one of the best things in the film — though Smith doesn’t always succeed with the different levels of his paranormal tale.
Nevertheless, the whole film is smart cinema. I wouldn’t be surprised if Smith didn’t land up with a contract in Hollywood. And possibly an easier plot to go with it.
