Description: Paul Giamatti is struggling through rehearsals of Uncle Vanya but he cannot seem to get in touch with the character because he is too weighed down by personal woes. Reading an article in The New Yorker about a revolutionary medical procedure, which temporary removes the soul from the body, Paul nervously visits Dr Flintstein to lighten his emotional load.

Paul Giametti plays a neurotic actor trying to get through rehearsals for Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya in director Sophie Barthes’s debut.
He just can’t seem to get the tone right.
Then he sees an ad in the New York Times that invites people to shed their souls and keep them in storage.
After a soul transplant, he thinks, he will be able to play Vanya.
The subject is not unlike something either Andre Breton or even Luis Buñuel would cook up.
But, as well as Giametti plays, the film peters out in a way that Buñuel would never have allowed.
