Have I lost you already? The Wachowski brothers were once taken very seriously.

That moment has passed and they and their protégé James McTeigue now appear happy to churn out gory action thrillers for sad-sack teens.

This one begins in Berlin, where a rogue martial arts assassin called Raizo (sleepy-eyed Korean pop star Rain) teams up with an attractive Europol agent, Mika (Naomie Harris), to defeat a secret ninja clan, led by the sadistic Lord Ozunu (Sho Kosugi).

The first time we see heads roll it's entertaining. The second time it's boring. The eighth time...
