An eclectic evening of entertainment

Alison Dewar
28 June, 9pm, Octave, £8, 0207 836 4616, www.octave8.com

Jazz singer Alison Dewar is joined by pianist Graham Harvey and Alec Dankworth for what is likely to be an eclectic night of performance.

Born in South Africa, Dewar took up jazz singing 10 years ago after being inspired by legends such as Shirley Horn.

Last year she released her first album, titled: 'Introducing Alison Dewar' which received critical acclaim and prompted her presence in the UK.

She has an impressive variety and dabbles in everything from ballads and bossa novas to jazz classics.
