Big names sign up for Fashion Rocks

Lily Allen, Joss Stone and Beth Ditto are to play this year's Swarovski Fashion Rocks concert, it has been announced.

Hollywood star Uma Thurman and Samuel L Jackson will host the event at London's Royal Albert Hall on October 18. The fashion and music extravaganza will raise money for the Prince's Trust.

Razorlight, Alicia Keys, Timbaland and Marc Almond will also feature in the line-up.

Designers confirmed to take part include Armani, Versace, Chanel and Stella McCartney.

Jackson attended the launch in central London and joked that he was the perfect choice to host a fashion event.

"I can see you thinking 'What the hell does he know about fashion? He's an actor'. Well, I think my sartorial credentials speak for themselves," he said.

The Pulp Fiction star added that he was "really happy to be part of this world-class event in aid of such a worthy cause".

The acts will perform live as the designers showcase their collections. Each designer has picked an artist to be paired with.

Allen is a likely fit for Chanel - she frequently wears the label and at one stage was tipped to be the new face of the label.

Larger-than-life singer Beth Ditto, who will perform with her band The Gossip, is thought to be teaming up with British designer Christopher Kane. Further acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
