Bizarre events at village fete

Friday Late Village Fete
Starts 27 July, £3 (adults) 50p (children 12 or under), V&A Museum, 020 7942 2000

With the amount of weird and wacky events going on here, this is clearly a children's festival with a difference.

The line-up of activities set down to entertain the kiddies is likely to be amusing for the child and worrying for the parent.

On the side of what sounds like harmless fun comes the chance to enter the World Moustache Championships and have a go at Hairdryer Ping-Pong.

However, scarier sounding events such as Electric Shock Therapy and music from the Rev. William Warren and his cleverly titled group, The Prints of Whales, suggest it could make for a bizarre weekend.
