For Your Mother: Garbo and Glamour

The Everyman Cinema Club will be celebrating Mother's Day with a screening of the clash-of-cultures comedy Ninotchka starring Greta Garbo.

The 1930s spoof of Stalin's Communist Russia was banned in the USSR on its release.

Garbo plays a humourless Russian envoy who is sent to Paris, falls in love with a man who represents everything she detests and is soon seduced by his bourgeois lifestyle.

Caviar blinis and champagne will be served prior to the screening and ticket holders will receive a special voucher for a discounted meal for two at Russian restaurant Trojka in nearby Primrose Hill.

For Your Mother: Garbo and Glamour, Everyman Cinema Club, 5 Holly Bush Vale, Hampstead, NW3. From 3pm on Sunday 18 March from 3pm. Tickets £20. 087 00 66 4777 or visit www.everymancinema.com
