As hordes of Irish - and non-Irish - pack the bars, a host of organised events will tie in with two major sporting fixtures.

Ireland's rugby side take on Italy in Rome in the Six Nations trophy at 1.30pm, while the Emerald Isle's cricketers face mighty Pakistan in the World Cup in Jamaica at 2pm.
The Guinness mojito, a new creation giving the Cuban cocktail an Irish twist, will be on sale for celebration or drowning sporting sorrows, along with specially-brewed green lager at The Club Bar & Dining on Warwick Street, Soho.
On Sunday, thousands are expected to watch a parade of marching bands, Celtic dancers and floats wind its way through the West End to Trafalgar Square.
The sixth annual festival will see London link up directly with Dublin for the first time to share enjoyment of the spectacle, billed as 48 hours, 2 Cities, 1 St Patrick's Day.
Irish theatre groups the Inishowen Carnival Group and Wexford-based Bui Bolg, will stage special pieces in Dublin tomorrow, before flying to London for Sunday's events.
Folk singer Paul Brady, violinist Sharon Shannon and world music favourites Kila will play in Trafalgar Square, while Leicester Square will have lessons in Irish dance. Covent Garden will be given over to a speciality Irish food market from tomorrow.
MOJITO RECIPE...
Take 1/2 lime, 10 mint leaves and 2 sugar cubes.
Then muddle (stir or mix gently) in a pint glass and add 40ml rum.
Finally, top up with Guinness
