Electronic book reading roadshow stops off in London

Two prominent authors are to launch a unique mobile library which will showcase electronic book reading in time for summer.

The Sony Summer Reader Roadshow takes place today and tomorrow with award-winning writers Patrick Neate and Justin Cartwright performing readings of their latest titles.

Reading books has been revolutionised with the advent of eBooks (electronic books), and a new page in the evolution of reading is about to be turned as the humble mobile library gets a makeover.

The first of its kind, the mobile library is in the form of a vintage ice-cream van and will be visiting six cities around the UK, starting with the capital.

Patrick and Justin join a host of the UK's most esteemed authors as they tour the UK this summer bringing audiences face-to-face with the new literary age and the most talked about gadget of the last year, the Reader from Sony.

Patrick said: "EBooks are definitely the way of the future so it's about time people embraced the digital age and that's why I wanted to take part in the roadshow - it's taking reading to the next level – into the future."

Fans can meet Patrick Neate from 10am today at the Sony Centre in Tottenham Court Road and Justin Cartwright from 10am at Covent Garden on Saturday.
