From 26 October until 31 October, Covent Garden Piazza

With Halloween approaching later this month, Covent Garden is hosting a free Autumn Pumpkin Festival featuring a variety of family-themed events.

The fair will showcase some of the biggest and best pumpkins the country has to offer, with some freakish mutant types weighing in at nearly a ton.

Perhaps in a bid to stave off potential boredom, organisers are helpfully laying on other vegetables and seasonal produce to keep people entertained.

While parents study what's big and getting bigger in pumpkin world, children can take part in a special Pumpkin Carving Workshop over the weekend where they can get creative and make a Halloween lantern.
