11 July 2007
Rise: London United Against Racism is in its seventh year and will feature acts from the worlds of hip-hop, indie, pop, jazz and reggae across seven stages. Stars confirmed to appear include Jamelia, Kelis and The Noisettes.
Richard Blackwood will act as compere at the comedy tent, where stand-ups such as Bill Bailey and Patrick Monahan will perform.
Other activities on offer include poetry, a children's play area, fairground, exhibitions and arts and crafts.
The festival takes place on Finsbury Park on Sunday 15 July, and runs from midday to 8pm.
The Dagenham Town Show, which has been running for more than 50 years, is also combining with Rise for the first time this year. Rise East: Dagenham Town Show takes place on Saturday 14 July, from 11am-8.30pm, on Central Park, Dagenham.
It features MOBO-award winning hip-hop star Sway, Nensi and the Congolese Allstars.
