Here comes the Saturdae

Ice cream and ethical awareness sound an unlikely duo, yet Ben & Jerry's have come up with a way of highlighting the dangers of climate change.

Their special "Sundae" event on Clapham Common will feature fairground rides, toe-wrestling competitions and the coconut shy.

The Sunday (July 29) is already sold-out, but tickets are now on sale for the Saturday (July 28) featuring an impressive line-up of acts.

The Saturday line-up includes indie bands The Feeling, The Bees and the Rumble Strips. Alongside this, new queen of myspace, Kate Nash will also be performing.

There will also be the opportunity to experience a taste-test of more than 17 Ben & Jerry's combinations, including a special Bohemian Raspberry for fans of the band Queen.

Ticket proceeds will support a solar panel project in India, so you'll be raising money for a good cause - even if the helter skelter does leave the ice cream you've scoffed churning in your stomach.

Ben & Jerry's Sundae, Clapham Common, 28-29 July, 12-8pm. Tickets are £8.75 from www.benjerry.co.uk
