Hurst serves up comedy and a curry

Curry on Comedy
5 July, from 6.30pm, Backyard Comedy Club, £13 (advance), £16 (on door), £8 (members/NHS/students), 020 7739 3122

Around the time of his television fame with the offbeat sports quiz They Think It's All Over, Lee Hurst was busy setting up this comedy club.

The bald funnyman comperes three nights a week himself and along with regular gigs from a succession of up-and-coming and more established performers, the venue has become hugely popular on the circuit.

Unlike other clubs, this one entices its audience in not only with gags aplenty, but the offer of a free curry if you arrive before 7.30pm.

And if the laughs wear you out, a disco kicks in after the show and runs until 1am.

Further information on the night can be found at www.backyardcomedyclub.moonfruit.com
