Plenty to keep the kids busy

Playday
1 August, www.playday.org.uk

With this year's theme titled 'Our Streets too', the organisers of Playday are on a mission to reclaim the streets and bring back an age of innocence where you could let your children play outside, free from fear and trouble.

This is an annual nationwide initiative where attention is taken off the usual anti-social behaviour issues and children are encouraged to take part in a host of activities ranging from workshops to face painting.

Included in the line-up of events will be one hosted by the London Mayor, Ken Livingstone, at Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park.
