Prepare to get your skates on

Dust off those ear-muffs, it's that time of year again - booking has just opened for the Natural History Museum's outdoor ice-rink.

Open for skating from 6 November, this year the main arena offers more than 900 square metres of ice and a separate junior area for small novices.

Those wishing to sit it out entirely can watch from the café with mulled wine or hot chocolate.

The first week always fills up fast, so keen skaters should get their tickets now.

Natural History Museum Ice-Rink - Open from 6 November (0844 847 1576, www. ticketmaster.co.uk) £8-£13
