Take a walk on the wild side

Visitors to the Horniman Museum are being invited to take a walk on the wild side when the BBC Walking with Beasts exhibition opens this weekend.

Based on the BBC's ground-breaking television series, the exhibition combines cutting edge technology with life-size models of the creatures that roamed the earth up to 65 million years ago.

The exhibition takes you on a journey from the hottest, wettest climate the earth has known to one of the coldest – the Ice Age – introducing you to life-sized sabre-toothed cats, woolly rhinos and birds big enough to eat small horses along the way.

There'll also be a range of interactive displays, including the chance to wander around a prehistoric landscape via blue-screen technology, as well as a programme of free children's activities, including a Modern Day Beast Watch.

Walking with Beasts, Horniman Museum. From Saturday 10 February. Adults £4.50, concs £3, children £2.50 (under 3s go free), family day ticket £12. Call 020 8699 1872 to book or visit www.horniman.ac.uk
