BarChick: Burger & Lobster

Take? Anyone who loves killer cocktails, cheap champagne and possibly the best bar snacks in town.

Vibe? In this laid-back Mayfair hangout, the guys behind Goodman's steak restaurant have tanks big enough to house dozens of lobsters, but it's the interesting selection of beers, innovative cocktails and lack of office-Christmas-party crowds that we loved.

Best drink? With the guys from Soul Shaker behind the bar, it's great. Five reds, five whites, and five bubbly drinks. The cocktail list is split depending on whether you choose burger or lobster for dinner, and is long and interesting. We loved the Gin Fizz, the Apricot Smash, finishing up with the Blazer, which is set on fire at the table. The beers went down pretty well, too.

Cash or card? Lobsters at £20 and Mayfair's cheapest glass of champagne - cash will be just fine.

Find it: 29 Clarges Street, W1 (020 7409 1699).
