Eccentric menus at The Antelope
Related Articles
17 December 2007
As with many a pub in this part of town, there's an air of gentility about the place, what with the wooden interior and the photos of the pub cricket team.
It's also a bit cosier than your run of the mill pubs, with an open fire in the back for those cold, dark evenings.
For those in need of a little privacy, there are some booths and large sofas tucked away in the corners. If you're just after a reasonable pint, four well-kept Fuller's ales are available, with the lovely London Porter on when we were last in.
A good cross-section of locals and an inexpensive, if slightly eccentric menu (when was the last time you saw beans on toast on a pub's menu?) make this one to seek out if you are in the area. And it's rather more down-to-earth than its location may suggest.
