First come, first served at The Anglesea Arms
03 March 2009
The Anglesea Arms is a very popular gastropub that caters for the well-spoken trend-setters of W6. One of the original gastro conversions, this one's a pleasant enough place when it's quiet, but it can get horribly busy when it's feeding time.
Furnished in the archetypal gastropub style of stripped floors, wooden chairs and assorted mixed furniture this is a much more comfortable place to drink in than most of the options on the nearby Goldhawk Road - and a real fire adds cosy charm in the winter.
There's Pride and Landlord on the hand pumps, a good range of other beers, lager and cider and, of course, a pretty extensive wine list. Dining is predominately carried out in the large area at the back of the bar, but a word of warning - if you are after food here, it's first come first served, so you may have to wait a while for a table.
NEAREST STATION: Ravenscourt Park station
FEATURES: separate restaurant
