It's a huge place with rooms seemingly in all directions and even a large outside space - obviously devoted to smoking with the ban. The beer's pretty good with offerings such as Flower's and Landlord on the hand pumps as well as the usual bar drinks you expect in a place like this.

The clientele is very mixed, but they seem to mix happily, nevertheless, as everybody's here for a good time and, by Jove, they get one. There's just one caveat - it can get pretty crowded in the evenings, particularly when some enterprising soul books one of the back room or a section of the garden. As we said of its previous incarnation, the old Pewter Platter tavern, you could do far worse in this neck of the woods.
