There're a couple of ales on tap, some average pub fare food and a good mix of punters. It's also a pub well known for the comedy nights it hosts upstairs on numerous days of the week. One of the first to do the 'pub comedy' thing, the quality can be variable, but choose the right acts on the right night and its still great. With a late licence on weekends, it can also provide a good place for a last couple of late night drinks as an alternative to some other (louder) nearby venues.

While a lot of pubs in the area are losing their heads in the quest for a more upmarket demographic, this one still manages to stay the same.
