Positively 4th Street is good for a midweek drink

Adding a bit of choice in an area lacking in pretty much anything, this bar is the result of the conversion of a shabby old boozer.
Brought to you by the people behind Monkey Chews in Chalk Farm (although not under the same owner anymore), the design is a considerably more original than the usual standard stripped wood affairs.
Here, booths run parallel to a long bar and the style of dcor appears to be a mix of New York Art Deco and oriental influences, illustrated by the unusual fans.
The good Japanese food however, has been replaced with (admittedly tasty) roast chicken dishes. The building probably isn't quite big enough pull it off convincingly, as some of the seating really isn't wide enough to sit comfortably on, but it's still a good midweek place to drink.
We'd strongly advise calling ahead though, as there is a propensity for it to be closed for private parties, especially on Saturdays.
FOOD REVIEW: A small menu of salads, wraps and chicken. They offer a quarter, half or whole roast chicken, with various side dishes. Prices are reasonable, and the food tasty. Doesn't quite fit in with the surroundings, but we enjoyed it.
