Punters kept happy at The Royal Standard
Related Articles
13 January 2010
Whereas most pub goers leaving Wandsworth Town station walk straight across the road into the Alma, a few in the know turn left and walk a few yards further to the Royal Standard.
This one keeps its punters happy by laying on enough screens for the sport, a dart board for the arrowheads and a weekly quiz as well.
A couple of real ales too (which - rarely for Wandsworth - aren't brewed by Young's).
This one's still under the ownership of the Massive pub chain and it follows the route of some of their other pubs by not offering food, but allowing you to phone up and get a takeaway delivered.
A friendly gesture and one in keeping with this dependable local boozer. Oh, and it's not open before 3.00 during the day in the week.
NEAREST STATION: Wandsworth Town station
FEATURES: real ales, traditional pub games, outdoor seating, Sky TV
The Royal Standard
1 Ballantine Street, SW18 1AL
