The Constitution, Camden - the review

11 October 2011
Situated on the canal, but hidden away from the market-going throngs on the wrong side of Camden, the Constitution has managed to avoid being molested by gastropubism and similar 21st century afflictions.
It is also off the radar for both tourists and weekend revellers alike. There is a good mix of devoted but friendly regulars frequenting the front, around the bar, but elsewhere younger and newly located locals come here for a relaxing pint.
The large, flower-adorned beer garden overlooking the canal is a lovely place and is understandably popular when the mercury goes anywhere above 15c. The homemade burgers and other BBQ fare are great tasting and fairly priced.
Meanwhile, the diminutive basement bar offers up a good variety of music nights, with DJs and live bands. The beer is well kept, with Adnams and regular guest beers offered on the hand pumps by friendly bar staff. A good, honest and refreshingly normal pub.
