Critic's choice: Top Five clubs

MIA headlines Eargasm at Fabric and a line-up of the top soulful house purveyors at MN2S are among the best weekend clubbing events.

Eargasm
Fabric, EC1

An absolute corker of a night beckons at Fabric, where things have gone even more urban and eclectic than usual. Topping the bill is a live set from the superbly gritty, headnodinducing British Sri Lankan rapstress known as MIA. Breaks master Krafty Kuts is also in the house, as are Soul of Man and the multi-genre DJs, Switch and Tayo. (020 7336 8898). Tonight, 9.30pm-5am.

MN2S
The End, WC1

The great MN2S is back with another line-up packed full of top purveyors of soulful house. There's CJ Mackintosh, Joey Negro, Soul Central and The Jinks. Plus, offering something a little harder in the main room, Tom Novy and Ian Pooley. (020 7419 9199). Tonight, 10pm-6am.

Happy Accident
Proud Gallery, NW1

The party started by mischief makers Daisy Quin and Anne Kapranos continues to go from strength to strength. Before departing its Camden home for the more pimped-out surrounding of Movida, the indie and rock party is going out with a bang. The excellent Rockaoke band are here, creating note-perfect backing music for anyone who fancies jumping on stage for a piece of the limelight. (020 7482 3867). Tonight, 7pm-3am.

Faith
The Key, N1

Faith regulars Terry Farley and Stuart Patterson are at the helm as ever with cool, funky, soulful house. Plus guest appearances from Jafar, Matthias Tanzmann and Frank Rogers. Combined with Faith's famously friendly crowd, I've got to ask you: what's not to like? (020 7837 1027). Sat 1 Sep, 10pm-6am.

Transmission
93 Feet East, E1

You don't have to have a really cool haircut to go here, but it might help. This edgy bunch are the types to attract a terribly cool crowd, but don't let that put you off, even if you're just a normal person. Featuring Skull Juice, XX Teens, The Horrors and the the king of electro/techno, Jeff Automatic. (020 7247 3293). Sat 1 Sep, 8pm-1am.
