A fun, informal dining experience at YO! Sushi

YO!Sushi has been a popular chain across the UK since the late 90s; serving various sushi dishes and other Japanese delights. Customers are able to pick and choose from what seems like an endless range of freshly prepared dishes, from a conveyor that circulates around the restaurant.

You can help yourself from what is "off the belt" or from the "order now" section of the menu and watch the trained chefs prepare your dish. Often looking deceptively simple, this mesmerising process has been passed down from the vast generations of Japanese chefs and is a joy to watch.

To help monitor costs, each dish is coloured coded against a set price. Dishes range from £1.70 to £5.00 - no matter what your budget there is something for everyone.

You may think YO!Sushi is purely a fish restaurant but this is not the case. With many Japanese dishes containing meat, rice, noodles and vegetables - variety is something YO! Sushi is not lacking.

Arriving at the Fulham Broadway restaurant a little before 8pm, the place was buzzing with atmosphere. When there is a queue outside a restaurant you know it is doing something right.

Assistant Manager Lenka, was very friendly and attentive, making sure all her patrons were well accommodated. Overall the staff were highly motivated and very efficient - which they needed to be with the restaurant at bursting point.

We started off with the Miso Soup and the popular Edamame beans followed by a variety of, sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls and hot dishes such as Chicken Teriyaki, Salmon Yakitori and Vegetable Firecracker rice, all fresh with great presentation and flavour.

If you really like spicy food I would recommend the Spicy Tuna. Otherwise the Spicy Pepper squid or the Salmon Yakitori are well worth a try. Make sure you take advantage of the "order now" section of the menu as you won’t always find what you want on the conveyor.

Definitely worth a visit no matter what the occasion, even if it’s to grab a quick bite to eat.
