There are many restaurants to eat Indian food in the capital, Charles Campion picks three of the best.

Chor Bizarre
16 Albemarle Street, W1

Celebrating its 10th birthday, Chor Bizarre serves food with well-balanced spicing in an eccentric dining room decorated to look like an Indian rummage sale. £30pp ex-drinks. (020 7629 9802).

Chowki
2-3 Denman Street, W1

The rolling menu here showcases different regions of India, so there are always some new dishes to be discovered. Interesting food - at bargain prices. £15pp ex-drinks. (020 7439 1330).

Imli
167-169 Wardour Street, W1

The sister restaurant to Mayfair's Tamarind represents a new tapas-style take on Indian fast food. Dishes can be modernist but the spicing is still accomplished. £20pp ex-drinks. (020 7287 4243).
